But I agree, it's not good to 'wrap' it up, just gives the critters a nice Winter home.

My 42 inch cub cadet should fit in here. What about this on top of concrete slabs

Garden sheds are great fun. Spray paint the inside bright yellow and put up pegs and hooks for more tools. Gotta love a happy garden shed..

Why not just build the shed under the deck?

Interesting point. Would it be cheaper?

Guess I haven’t looked into under deck sheds that could be built

I don’t know about cheaper, but definitely a more effective use of space. I did one on my old place in San Diego and it was pretty dang easy.

Depends on how much room you have under the deck.

Nevermind then. Storing a mower outside is not a good idea, even when you cover it to protect it from the winter climate. Often water makes its way into the gas tank and starts issues so whenever possible store your mower inside.
I think you might need to invest in this:

Moisture can absolutely make it inside one of those Rubbermaid tubs.

I have a shed that’s built like a house, but it is not heated. Use Sta-bil and non-ethanol gas and you should be good to go. The mice, etc., are another matter. They will also get into sheds. You may want to build a simple lean-to, put in the fuel additive, and do your best to wrap it up like you first suggested.

I keep my lawn tractor in my garage, but would definitely buy or build a shed if I didn't have the room. Empty the gas tank then run it dry for storage. I keep my battery on a trickle charger.

You could look into wrapping your lawn mover in moisture proof plastic they use for boats or for storing hay in the fields.
Drain lines, remove battery, clean the tractor thoroughly, grease everything that needs it with a proper grease/ oil and do a shrink wrap plastic- then put it under the decking - elevate on concrete blocks? Or just put it on a piece of old plywood? Or larger pallet?
Should not take too long to do it.
Shop for better deals on plastic. Rent or get your own propane heat gun
