Pffffffffffffffft
Pull up plank, put down plank. I would have knocked it out and savored those last few weekends that I could actually use the deck out there. And saved $2500... boom.

I had two decks built two years ago. I have construction experience, but our son was just born and we had a lot going on so we decided to just hire out for these particular jobs vs wait for me to do it.

One was a 6x8' front landing done with all new frame, Azek composite decking, railing and composite trim boards and new stair box. Demo to completion took 2 guys 2.5 days to complete. $4500 including removal of the old decking and frame material.

The other was a 19x19' brand new deck. 6 footings plus stair box dug, ledger on house added, all new frame, Azek composite decking, railing and composite trim board. $17K. Of that, $6500 was decking/trim board material. Took 2 guys 7.5 days in 95 degree heat to complete. I received a few quotes in the $22-26K range for this deck.

I got quite a few no-shows and no quotes from contractors I called.

Keep in mind, northeast labor costs tend to be a bit higher
