I have 1.5 "pipe running from the pump to the surface. then it elbows and it has a reducer and drops down to 3/4 pipe. the 1.5 pipe runs inside a 4"pipe and the elbow fits flush with the 4"pipe.its leaking where the reducer fits into the elbow. can I cut away the 4"pipe to get to the elbow?

If you know what you are doing and have the equipment to pull the pipe and pump out of the well, you can take care of it yourself. But my advise is to have the company who installed your well system taking care of it. If the pump is in the well, depending on how deep the well is, you wont believe how heavy it can be to retrieve it to work on the down pipe. There should be a label or something like that posted on the water pump's control box with the company's name and phone number.

Please find a well guy to fix this. The stakes are really high if you mess your “fix” up. And when the well guys come out to do the work, be sure to ask questions about your well.

We had a deep well for over 20 years. Never again.
