My preference is the oil filled radiator. Heat is more even and they are much safer to run, not getting hot enough to burn children or start fires. They provide plenty of even heat.
My scientifically trained friends tell me that a watt of heat is a watt of heat and all electric heater cost exactly the same to produce the same amount of heat. Put the flip way, if they produce exactly the same amount of heat, they will use the same amount of power and cost exactly the same to run.

Yes, but how the heat is cast out into the room will feel different depending on the proportion of it that's emitted by radiation, free convection, or forced convection.
