Yes, but how the heat is cast out into the room will feel different depending on the proportion of it that's emitted by radiation, free convection, or forced convection.

The oil filled radiators are probably the best.
Plug it in, set it and forget it.
Only issue as stated is it takes a while to warm the room but once it does it will maintain nicely.

I use a propane one in my garage. Heats it up roasty real quick. Wouldn't use it in the house though.

Let me just reiterate how much I love my Lasko remote control oscillating tower heater. If anything, it gets too hot in my bedroom now!
