I've been going through the paint storage in a house we bought earlier this year with the intention of touching up some dings. Much of the house is the same color of white, including upper cabinets in kitchen, trim, built-ins, and painted wall paneling. I found this white in latex, oil, and alkyd acrylic. I'm wondering how to tell what was used where? I was assuming maybe trim in oil and cabinets in alkyd acrylic, but then started looking closely where there is trim and paneling and built-ins all right next to each other and wasn't sure. I know you don't want to layer latex and oil, but will it mess anything up to inadvertently layer alkyd enamel and oil?
