I live in a rural area with no neighbors close by. I never leave any lights on at night as I enjoy looking at the stars.
I have a gate at the road and a fence all the way around the house. If a criminal wants to park his/her vehicle at the road, walk 200 yards down a dark driveway, hop the fence, deal with the dogs, kick my front door in and get blasted with a shotgun I say "have at it".
I didn't have neighbors when I bought my house. One reason I moved to the country was so it would be dark at night. Now I have people on both sides who have huge spot lights that they leave on all night. I hate it.
I wish people would use motion lights.... or move back to town
I am surprised by the number of my neighbors who don't turn on their outside lights at night. I live in a middle class subdivision that is relatively new (less than 3 years old). By habit, I flip my exterior lights on at night before I go to bed. Every house in my neighborhood is occupied, but virtually every house is dark. My house stands out like a sore thumb among the darkened houses on my street. I don't get it. I thought exterior lights were a deterrent to burglars? What changed over the years?
No way. I'd catch the holy wrath of my astronomy viewing DH. Light pollution is a huge problem for those that like to star gaze.
the rhyming is really childish.
why do you do that?
it isn't funny, and it isn't necessary, as were all adults here.
Use ignore gore and things will be fine.
