I agree Toto is very good product and would be my first choice.
Just I have never seen it being available in America.
Toto is now one of th big three along with Kohler and American Standard. Toto opened it's first plant in Georgia back in 1996. It now has facilities in California and Mexico as well.

I have purchased probably 6-8 of them through HD over the last ten or so years. Two for daughters condo, two for my home, two for same daughter's home purchased after moving from condo, two for my current home, one for a rental property. Even had to purchase a new one for current home when one was cracked during bathroom remodel, broke my heart..! I have a few round ones, some elongated, depending on the room and the needs.
Go online to HD, pick out the one you want and it arrives in just a few days. I also purchased the Toto soft close seats, which I will never live without again, they are wonderful. If you have males or children in the home, they are absolutely a must have feature..!!
I might add, open the box when you pick it up at HD, check it out before leaving store. I had one that arrived broken.

I have seen Toto toilets in the US, especially in SoCal, since that is where I live. I have some Toto toilets in my house. Not sure where you are looking, but HD and Lowes carry them.

I can not understand why American Standard and Kohler didn't spend a few bucks and design an efficient toilet that gets the job done without splash. Hate to say it, some of their toilets are S**t.
When I was buying ceiling fans, the model I wanted was not available at HD or Lowe's in the stores. They both sold them online. You might have a similar situation here.
My last renovation project was about 5-6 years ago; there was no Toto at Home Depot around where i live (SF bay area). Otherwise I would have definitely selected Toto. I bought one Toto toilet in Asia 2003 and it was exactly the same -- quit, quiet, fail-proof.
I stumbled on my Kohler unit just by selecting based on name, and was pleasantly surprised by the same benefits. Units I have had before kind of small situations like having to flush a 2nd time, things stuck to bowl, etc. (not often, but they happen). One model I remember depended on the system creating a swirl, and it took like 5-6 seconds for the swirl to properly form, then another 5-6 to flush! With my Kohler it is 1 strong yet quiet flush in 2 seconds.
I think the reason might be that my Kohler and Toto both have a horizontal "groove" leading into the exit pipe, thus water is basically going straight out or having to make a smaller turn. I remember noticing the unusual groove design when I had the Toto for the first time.
Several years ago the government made rules for water conversation which limited the about of water a toilet could use per flush in an attempt to save water. (GPF= gallons per flush)
Note: Google is your friend, I looked it up, longer ago than I remember; Bush signed the Energy Policy Act. This law made 1.6 gallons per flush a mandatory federal maximum for new toilets. This law went into effect in January 1, 1994 for residential buildings
So the new toilets sucked, it took two or three flushes to accomplish the purpose, thus making a joke out of water conversation purpose, the new design used far more water due to multiple flushes. Toto was ahead of the game, theirs worked great, that is when I started using Toto and nothing else since. Slowly but surely other brands have figured it out and other brands now work OK. Not great, but OK. Toto also makes a handicap model that is 2" higher. That makes it standard chair height and much more comfortable, you don't fall as far before landing on the seat. All of mine are comfort height.
Stick with Toto and flush in peace. One flush no matter how much you deposit...
PS Toto even has some that uses less that the required 1.6 GPF, they have a 1.4 GPF model.
