Metal tongs? Like for food? That's an idea. I will try that. Maybe even my grill tongs might work. Thanks.

Yeah, food tongs. I wish I would have thought to mention the grill ones that are longer. Tongs are one of my go to tools for some things, like fishing something out from between seats in the car. My grandson dropped a toy part in the seat belt hole, I grabbed one of my smaller tongs to grab it.

How did you like the way it washed clothes?

I had mentioned the glass lid yesterday, it's especially nice when the load goes unbalanced, you can watch it start to slowly spin when you rebalance it. My hub has flannel pants that throw my machine off. I'm able to see which part of the drum looks heavier with the glass lid. I'd never go back to one I can't see thru.

I love the way it cleans but had a big issue today. I am thinking it isn't the washer fault but the blanket I tried to wash. It is a very fluffy fleece blanket that is queen-sized. Nothing I did would balance this in the washer. I had to have my husband come in and was astounded how heavy this blanket was. He said it was heavy for me and he doesn't even know how I was trying to move this around to make it balance. We just ended up taking the entire thing outside and put it over my chainlink fence. I had to get a mop and follow him. LOL I washed this around 9 this morning and it is 6:30 and still not completely dry. I was very worried as the washer an error code called a UE which means unbalanced. I don't know if I will ever use this lovely fluffy blanket anymore since it is obvious I can't wash it.

Outside of this, it washes like a dream. Bet this blanket would have not had this issue had I been able to get a front loader but it is what it is.

Use your blanket and when it requires, take it to the dry cleaner.

It's all in the way you load the blanket in. I usually start with one of the corners, then twist it around the drum verses folding it in half lengthwise to put it in. Thankfully mine doesn't have an issue with blankets, just his flannel pants.

It kills my back to have to take everything out then reload when it goes unlevel so I try to make sure I have 2 of his flannel pants at once.

Roselvr: I don't know how to thank you enough for the idea of the tongs. I am using silicone-covered kitchen tongs and they are just perfect! I can reach anything, the grasp works great. I am stunned at how much easier this is than the grabber. I am so happy with my washer now. Thank you so much.

I was just about to post this. I know it's too late now, but there are front-loaders that have reversible hinges. My neighbor got one. I think hers is an Electrolux, but I could be wrong about that.

I needed to find a washer locally that could deliver for free. I checked, Lowes and Menards and we were told the doors swing left so I gave up on a front loader. Still loving this washer with using the kitchen tongs.

So glad the tongs are working!

Where do you keep them? You can get a 3M hook or a magnetic one to put them on the side of the washer so they're hanging there for you to make it more convenient.
