The house i purchased came with home security system called Alexor. From googling it appears to be made by DSC. However system can't be monitored and from what i gather it's only capable of using 2g wireless. I can arm/unarm it just fine. I am looking at changing the main unit to something that would let me have this system professionally monitored. Anyone know what i can change it with without having to change all the wireless sensors?

If you're wanting to monitoring- talk to the company you plan to use for the monitoring. I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

Sorry but I highly doubt that’s true. DSC as a security company revolves around home security.

It may be a wireless system but I guarantee there is a module or it has the capability of hardwire coms to transmit to a central station. The sensors are proprietary to DSC which means they only work with DSC systems.

Update.
You don’t need to change the main panel as I just read it (from DSC site)

https://www.alarmsystemstore.com/blo...-alexor-alarm/

“The DSC Alexor supports POTS line, Cellular/Radio, GSM, and IP communications, which is a good alternative for those who use VOIP or mobile phones and in cases when your power or telephone goes out. To have your alarm system monitored, have it listed on a UL-certified central station. Contact your alarm security provider so they can locate and add your control panel.”

Cellular radio is no longer operational being it's 2g(gsm) and there is no more 2g signal being broadcast.I do not have POTS line either. That only leaves me with IP communications which honestly in my view is good as backup and not as primary way of monitoring security system. Hence i am looking to replace it with something.
