Hello all,

I saw these images today and I wonder if it was possible to update my bathroom tiles to look the same. Is this a special refurbishment, or likely an original tile style.

If anyone knows how to refinish to look this way I would greatly appreciate info on the process.

That looks like a 50s or 60s style tile. I'm sure you can find and install that same look today.

That appears to be original tile. If you want to do a vintage-style bathroom with colored tile, you're going to need to find a source other than your local big box store.

A resource for all things vintage in regards to the home that I've used for my own house is Retrorenovation.com.

Thank you all for the quick response. I was hoping this was a type of tile restoration, that could be done like re glazing the tile etc, I was looking for inspiration to update my 1950s square tiles.

You could certainly make changes to any bathroom like in the pictures. But using so much tile is truly a little much.

I extensively tiled a bathroom in my lake house, and I wish I'd left two walls in drywall.

Can you post a picture of your 1950s square tiles? Depending on their color and the style of your house they might look more appropriate as is. Keeping things "retro" in a mid-century home is very "in" right now.
