Kids at that age being physically able to tear apart a pillow? Part of the story maybe. Your options are a shop vac and packing tape. The tape to pick up small pieces of feathers not to tie the kids up.

Lol I don't know if this is the feedback you were looking for. Seriously though, I had a goose feather spill when I was working on a craft project and are they ever pesky. I used a wet paper towel to wipe them up, but it took a few tries. I'd clean up and then when the floor dried, find a few stuck to the floor. And the chair legs. And the table legs. And the outside of the bag where I was keeping them. Ugh.

Try a shop vac, one of the bigger ones used for saw dust and other dusty stuff like that. I'd expect a pillow full of goose feathers would choke most house hold vacuums.

Glitter could be fun for their next adventure, if you've run out of more pillows.

After 15 minutes with the shop vacuum stop and empty the container and wipe off the filter. Repeat as needed. The idea is to keep air flowing thru the filter and avoid clogging and straining the motor. These vacs are easy to clear.

What I want to know is-- if goose down is supposed to be so warm, why do geese fly south for the winter?

In order to eat. A warm goose can starve just like a cold one! While the better insulated goose might not lose body heat as fast as the uninsulated one its metabolic rate might be higher...which speeds up the process.

Or, just use a bag insert and do it all in without stopping!

A damp cloth wrapped over a sponge mop ought to do nicely to pick up the feathers all over the floor, then wring it out in a bucket.

DO NOT POUR THE BUCKET WATER OF FEATHERS DOWN THE SINK DRAIN ... but you knew that.

same for dusting furniture.. use a damp wrung out cloth. Make the children help.. let them know they are responsible for their actions.

The kids get foam pillows from now on. Sorry kids.
