The whole 'smart house' concept has been taken off a cliff.
Over twenty years ago, I used some X10 gear to simplify a few things, like being able to control the living room lighting without getting up to go to three different places. Especially nice when adjusting the lights to watch a movie; the lights were never right once you sat down. Such things are a boon to daily living.

I am grappling with the idea that anyone would actually want a voice-controlled faucet needing electric power to operate.
Without having wasted one second on searching, I get the idea this is another brilliant innovation from Japan, developed for a completely different culture and mindset (and not necessarily an admirable one nor one worth emulating).
Foot pedal over voice activated. Announcing / declaring every action becomes more cumbersome than just doing it yourself. I hear people in management love them, though.
X10 stuff was pretty sophisticated for its day. And simple, and reliable.
I designed a lot of remote control stuff, including a relative of the Clapper that turned on with a rising whistle and off with a descending whistle. I was never fond of 'toggle' commands that cycled through settings.
