I installed my Bellawood Brazilian Cherry floors (close to 1000 sq. ft.) about 9 years ago. We have rugs in 3 different rooms, and when we have moved or changed them there is very noticeable difference for a month or so, then it starts to blend. I am not sure how long until it is no longer noticeable, but I don't remember it lasting a long time.
Years ago we had brazilian cherry floors installed by Lumber Liquidators. After years of being covered with an area rug, the flooring underneath is about 5-6 shades lighter than the rest of the 'uncovered' floor. We knew this but haven't decided to deal with it until now.
Has anyone had this issue and just tried uncovering the floor to let it 'catch up' to the rest of the floor and if so, how long did that take? That part of our house does not get strong natural light, so I have a feeling it could take even a year or two. If we ever sell the house, this will be an issue.
Man...my parents got that same flooring. I thought it looked beautiful at the time.
