I have this American Standard low profile toilet, I would hear the toilet running here and there, which told me, its a flapper, so I went out and bought a new flapper, I cleaned the plastic piece on bottom that the flapper seals up against, and I assumed that would fix it...
But I still hear the toilet water kicking on here and there, its not often, so its likely a very small leak, but since this is a low profile toilet, I cannot think of where else it could be leaking?! there is no bowl to tank seal, (its all one piece)
You probably need to replace the entire flushing system, not just the flapper. Just replacing the flapper does not solve the problem, when other parts of the flush system are worn out.
