My 1980’s central vacuum fell off wall and the low voltage wires disconnected from the power unit. Can anyone tell me how to reconnect? The bottom two are from the power unit and the top two are the low voltage wires that run through the house to the wall units. Thanks for any help!

If you have to ask, have a knowledgeable person do it.
Unless, of course, you want your relatives to post in the “where are they now?” forum.

I get it that’s a valid point and I expected to get pushback because normally it’s not a good idea to mess around with electric issues. I normally don’t do anything beyond replacing outlets or wall lights. However, it’s been a nightmare trying to find someone to come out for such a small job and the only person so far wants $250 and will put me up on their bulletin board for the next time someone is in my area (no one for at least two weeks). Is this really such a complicated/dangerous fix or something I can do myself?

Do you have the make and model information? It's very possible to find the installation instructions online, assuming you don't have a copy on hand.

Wire nuts!?

In less smart ass mode- the low voltage wires don’t matter (as far as +/-) these only complete the circuit for the switch relay that sends power to the vac motor. Not sure why you have multiple wires, so... anything is possible.

Your pic is too closeup, making it hard to tell what-is-what!
