That is interesting article
Find the reviews are mainly from people who are painting and need the less tinted form of artificial lighting which can improve their own palette choices

Interestingly I prefer 5000K over 2700K for taking selfies, since it makes the pink hues of my clothing look more like their true colors (I prefer purple-based pinks over yellow-based pinks).

Yep. 3500K is about the same color temp as halogen bulbs, and I find that just right. Unfortunately they are hard to find in an LED.

I hate anything over 5000K. Reminds me of being in a hospital.

Of course it’s personal preference. My boyfriend absolutely hates my lighting… And I absolutely hate his. LOL. But I will say that I spend a lot of time in painting and decorating forums… And when people are complaining about “something is just not looking right“ with their decor, the very first thing that is suggested by the pros, is to try cooler lighting. The yellow warm lighting really distorts true colors in your home.

They don't sell well because no one wants their house to look like a surgical operating theatre.

You don't easily find them in stores because they don't sell well.

They don't sell well because people prefer warmer light in their homes...

...as the opinions in this thread show.

I ordered one of the bulbs and tested one of them side by side with a 5000K bulb, was able to clearly notice a difference. Have yet to try it together with the CFLs in the guest bathroom since I have to climb up to reach the vanity lights.

Well of course you would see a difference, because, well ummmm, one is 5000 and one 6500.
