That way, it makes installation soooo much easier- whether it’s you or a future owner.

Are there “work arounds”? Sure! But the price to do those could severely limit the pool of your dreams versus a drop-in fiberglass pool!
Hmmm, it appears the OP is in New jersey where a fiberglass drop-in pool would be as rare as a postage stamp depicting an upside down airplane.

OK, that makes sense. I.e. if you can place the equipment close to the house, that'll be cheaper than at the end of the yard where they'll have to dig a trench, run cable etc. Is pool equipment typically pretty loud? Our back yard is about 7000 sq ft with neighbors on both sides.
Your concern now is making sure that you don't have to open up a finished ceiling to extend the utilities in the future. Get stubs to the exterior. Trenching while digging a hole for a pool is going to be a small cost of a future pool project. You're going to spend more on fixing the landscaping on the side of the house where they bring in the excavator.

That would depend on the contractor hired! Good one know that that is a major thorn in their side when it comes to H/O's. They don't want the hassle, headache, or blemish; so they use rubber mats and/or plywood to cover yard/sod to spread load and minimize damage. Loads are kept small for weight. Gunite pools are usually pumped concrete- truck stays in the street.

Generally, it's a "walk in the park".
