Im going to install a new LVT floor in my bedroom, one of my top 3 is a very light maple colored type...
I have had a very light wood floor before and it seems there was something about it I did not like, (but cannot remember what that was!) I think it may have been that it showed dust/dirt easily, but not sure if that was it or not.
When I say light colored, Im referring to the nude or naked wood look, like a blonde/golden color.

I prefer medium oak colors but darker sows dust lighter doesn’t. Dirt would show more easily.
Dark floors show dirt MUCH worse than lighter floors, most folks regret getting really dark floors.
Yes, and scratches are usually much more visible on dark floors. I have old light oak floors in my current hoe and although they are not perfect and have some dirty/worn areas, it is not particularly noticeable as it would be with a lighter floor.
Light floors would show dark dirt more easily, but I like lighter floors. They help the room seem more open.

I just remember we had VERY light colored pine floors in a house I lived in years ago and I remember there was something about it i didnt like at all (wish I could remember though), I do recall the walls were a brighter shade of blue, so maybe that combination was the negative...IDK?
My bedroom walls are a light gray color, so light wood would probably look good with it.
For LVT I feel there is little to none. Scuff marks from dark soled shoes are a maybe (though most materials used today are “non-scuffing”). Heavy dirt is a given on any floor- and no one would leave that.
I did have a house many years ago that had site-finished oak flooring with a pickled finish. There were a couple of heavy traffic areas that had worn through to the wood- quite noticeable against the pickling. But again, with LVT there are little problems.

Perhaps it was too light, with the blue walls? It is good to look at the balance of color before you paint.
I prefer floors that are of a light color, even as light as bamboo, and also white color walls. No dark colors for me. Instead, all light colors, lots of windows and sheer white window curtains. If living near a desert, then I would like a light marble floor.
