How many squares does your roof measure? Ours is just 9 squares and we paid $5k to have it replaced in October 2019.
Relative recently had one replaced - 12 squares, around $11,000, but that was pre-Covid.

How about 10K? Who gets to be the Wage Czar in Westcoast world?. I guess doctors and lawyers get to make 12-15K but contractors are not allowed in Westcoast world. The way it works is you get 2-3 estimates and see what the market rate is in your area. If you don't want to pay do it yourself, or get uncle johnny to do it.

Ours was 20 years old, had 7 little spots of minor hail damage, house built in 2000, $25,500 for a new roof 100% covered by insurance, we owned the house 5 years. Shingles were 36 inches per industry standard back in 2000. Now they’re 39 inches and can’t repair correctly. Insurance agreed, strokes the check, AND THEN lowered my annual premium due to a reduced risk of a water damage claim from a leaking roof (50 year warranty).

Excessive for a 7,000sf home? Maybe. Likely. But insurance sees it differently. They’re not pricing just for the cost of the new roof, but also the reduced likelihood of future claims from a bad roof, which could easily easily easily exceed the true cost of the new roof plus profit.

I keep hearing all this crap about illegals doing the work. Maybe so, but what’s it say about us when the illegals are the only ones willing to do the work? I’ve had floors replaced, bathrooms redone, roof, garage floor, painting, stone work, landscaping, and so over the past few years. Never met a guy named Ricky willing to do any of it himself yet. Plus, the illegals as we call them, sure do seem to appreciate having the work to do, and are quite nice.

Depends on where in the model's production life you ask.

Early on, where advertising might cost $75 million a year, to tooling costs of another $225 million, it's kinda hard to say. Granted the Tahoe is getting "long in the tooth" now, it's tooling is likely fully amortized.

However, I DO have the penetration #'s for the current C8 Corvette, but I'm sayin' nuthin' about that.

You’re clueless. This subcontractor may even be paying these guys under the table. This runs rampant in the construction industry with illegal aliens.

We know!

They are jacking up the C8 now. Msrp on the entry level was gonna be like 59,000. Can’t find anywhere near that now.

This seems disgustingly absurd and should be illegal don’t you think?

Curious if only roofing companies are exempt from 10K profit a days or is their a list of people that are exempt? what about all the others that make 10k days that make a "KILLING" not that westcoast has given us a definition what that means.

A KILLING means massive amounts of profit from nothing

So why aren’t you opening your own contracting company and making a killing? Your obsession with this is entertaining (and sad) if nothing else.
