She might have found them on FB Marketplace and/or Freecycle. It's amazing the cool things that people unload for pretty much peanuts. (That's where I've gotten some of my best finds for my own house; you'd never know it to look at them.)

I like the results that she got for her time and relatively small investment. It's young, homey, and very welcoming.

It looks as though most of the money spent went into the kitchen renovation.
