Are you sure? I was looking into some (smaller) sheds earlier this year and I'm pretty sure they said they were transported knocked-down and then assembled on site. I don't mean stick built, I mean they screw the panels together.
I was talking about say 10 x 12 sheds, so not tiny.
Yes, I'm sure. But, that's not to say that some may be a "panelized kit".
So it's an unfinished shed. Which is all it's represented to be. Specifc to framing, siding (looks like LP Smart Panel), and flooring... isn't it pretty much what tract builders are throwing up all over the countryside?
Maybe you have not been into a house during construction, but that is far from what is built around here as far as HOMES. Frankly it does not look as nice as my own 12x20 shed that I had built in the spring.
I can see myself living in one of these. Look around and reclaim some lumber and sheet insulation for free. Scrounge a wood-fired stove that you can cook on using pots and pans. For wood, contact an arborist or city hall and ask if you can claim some of the tree branches and trunks for your fuel. You will need a small chain saw say 12" to process them and of course an axe. There is also the option of using propane to heat and cook. Look for houses being renovated and grab yourself a kitchen sink and cabinets for next to free. If you want to charge batteries like for a chain saw or whipper snipper, have a small generator you can fire up for a couple hours. Kerosene lamps work great as well as a camping stove.
A futon couch is comfortable for seating or sleeping. The rest of your furnishings are easy to find on line to haul away for free or a major discount.
You dont need 100k to COMPLETE this shed,I would say under 50K would be enough, including appliances and bathtub or shower stall.
A local contractor would be happy to take on the project for $50k,including materials
agree - no way would you need 100K to complete it.
We used to have the cutest little tiny home/shed here in our town. They did it up very nice.
But they sold it. One day I saw it being hauled off down the street one day. Off to make someone else happy.

What I said was that at the FRAMING stage, it looks like regular construction... especially in a low-end tract home. 16" OC 2x4 studs, OSB flooring, house wrap, and siding. Having watched numerous low-end tract developments go up in the last several years, I'll stand by that. Add in some wall bracing, and it's a house.
I'm glad they're building things better where you are. They're throwing them up as quick as they can in south Texas.

Well there are certainly some being "thrown up"...but thankfully Ryan Homes is not the only builder around here.
