Stainless steel appliances in a kitchen with warm tones. Stainless steel is a cool tone and should only be paired with white black or gray surroundings, and not warm tones!
Seeing the same exact same flooring/countertops used in both the kitchen and bathroom.
I went to the Gaines' place in Waco and could hardly find anything with color. I finally bought some silk flowers because they were the only thing I could find that wasn't gray or white! Ridonkulous.
Gray anything, ship lap anything unless it's actually an old cabin in the woods, barn doors, pretty much anything one would buy at Hobby Lobby or that ilk, and, of course, wall word "art." I don't need to be told to "Eat" or "Drink" in the kitchen or that I'm in the "Laundry" room when the washer is right in front of me, etc.
I prefer to decorate my house with things that I've found over the years that delight me or things that were given to me that have some meaningful connection to my life.
Open floor plan still dislike it, tired of seeing gray, marble veining on countertops, ship lap, countertop with waterfall edge. Cabinets painted different from top and bottom. I like one color.
You consider that a “housing trend”?
How about…
Smaller lots
Townhouses/apartments outpacing SFH’s
Land prices and environmental impact fees through the roof
Tiny houses
Yada, yada, yada- those are “housing trends”!
"Open concept" floorplan. Enormous clocks as wall art...do they even tell the time?
