I was look at various properties around my state and noticed how difficult it is to locate addresses because most house #s are poorly lit or not easy to see especially at night.
I used my phone's navigation which took me to location but when I look around for the house #, it's nearly impossible to find some addresses.
Often a house has the # sign too small and hidden behind a bush or covered up by plants. Some houses the address # faded away on their mailbox.
The worst offender are big mansions, you can't see the house # at all and the Google map shows the property picture as an empty land but there are 2 houses built on it now!
So now I know, it must be difficult to delivery mail or packages!
If you have Redfin or a similar real estate app you can see street addresses.
It doesn't matter what the app shows, it's all based on GPS. When I walk over to the property I look around, I can't locate the property or house as all houses around have their house #s hidden or difficult to find.
Especially when it's a newly built home they usually never put the house # until somebody buys the property and put in their own house # sign.
This is one of my biggest pet peeves is a house without a clear number on it.
Nothing is worse than driving along trying to find a house or a place of business and you can't see or find the number on the house.
To me, the number should be clearly visible in a spot where one does not have to hunt for it.
It should be right next to or above the door, or on a house with a garage right above, but somewhere clear and big enough where one can see it.
