Who has a convection microwave? Brand/model? What do you like about it? Dislike? Does it have an air fryer function? Easy to clean? Longevity? Give me some recommendations, or things to avoid.

I have the Combi Wave from Breville. Simply amazing like everything from that brand. Too much to rave about. Used daily.

The Breville is on my short list, but I'm a little put off by all the negative reviews I see on every website about their customer service. What do you like and dislike about it? How easy is it to clean inside? And do you happen to know if it contains any PTFE?

Did you look at the Panasonic Home Chef 4-in-1? That's the other one on my short list. I've had a Cuisinart MW-200 for nearly 13 years, and I've been happy with it except the controls are anything but intuitive and it's annoying to clean, but it's started to give off a melting smell when using convection. I think it's time for a replacement, but I can't complain since I only paid $200 for it.

Thanks for your help.

We have a Miele speed oven.
Microwave or convection—cannot do both at same time.
I have it programmed for certain foods to microwave first and then switch to convection.
Recommended.

More research discovered that the Panasonic is supposedly PTFE-free, while the Breville has a non-stick, non-replaceable air fryer pan. Since I have birds, this is a pretty important consideration. The Panasonic should arrive in a couple of days.

Me, I'd stick with a single-purpose convection oven and a single-purpose nuker. Multi purpose tools rarely work as well as the single-purpose ones.

Had one a long time ago. Tried to use the convection mode for baking potatoes (seemed like a good idea because it was smaller than the regular oven).

It kept overheating when used that way. Next time I got a plain old ordinary microwave and use the large oven for baked potatoes.

(By the way- yes, you can cook potatoes in the microwave but they are not as good.)

I'd say an oven that overheats when you try to use it as an oven is a bad product.
