A clothesline on a pulley out the kitchen window. That's how Mom hung the clothes out.

A coal fired furnace that my parents had to shovel coal into. It was in the cellar. Then they converted to oil.

An old wooden swing that hung from a tree with ropes.

lots of grasshoppers and toads, and a few turtles, also fireflies.

Sheer ruffled tie back curtains.

Wallpaper in my room with cowboys on horses, wallpaper in den with pictures of old houses.

Beautiful glass doorknobs.

A family. Memories. Love. Fun.

Oh, you mean architecturally speaking?

A gas fireplace. A window seat. A reading nook. A dry basement. Solid construction. Adequate insulation. A private porch. Working windows. Cross ventilation. Plenty of sunlight. Lots of trees. Flower gardens. Outdoor electrical outlets. A driveway.

Great neighbors. Peace of mind.

Selling my family home was the biggest mistake of my life.

Thanks for reminding me!
