I cannot do that, although I have over an acre around my house. The moose and sometimes foxes, grouse, ptarmigan, and a few days ago, a marmot decided to brake into my yard
Two driveways, and no gates, but the bratty wildlife doesn't come to visit on the driveways.

They make inviting friends and family over a hassle; you always have to be on standby to make sure someone can get in.

It adds a cost to your HOA.

It even adds an extra step for you to enter your own house.

ITA it adds a lot of cost but it doesn’t make inviting friends & family over a hassle. Are you calling waiting for a second for the gate to open the “extra step”? We have a gate & camera on our driveway too.
