My house has a fully covered patio on the back, where the previous owner installed a cheap indoor ceiling fan. Thus, not surprisingly, the blades have sagged considerably over the years due to moisture and heat.
I'd like to replace it with a proper outdoor wet rated fan so I can clean it easier with a hose, but it seems everything I'm finding now has a fixed LED light in it which is a problem as I use the yellow bug lights everywhere outside. I've tried regular white LEDs before, and they still attract almost as many bugs as regular incandescent lights, making the space virtually unusable at night.
Am I missing something out there, or am I just looking at a non lighted fan and separate lighting?
Just a quick search “outdoor rated” ceiling fans showed a bunch of offerings.
Took a quick look and found lots of options too, though it is getting harder to distinguish fans that allow bulb swaps. The last time I shopped for ceiling fans seem to recall seeing one or more that included a bug bulb as an accessory but you'd really have to search carefully to find them.
Another approach: consider a wet location-rated fan without an incorporated light. You could always use a separate fixture/bug bulb to light the patio.
