Hi there
We have a log sided home with a deck in the front that is probably 9 x 30. I would like to screen 1/2 of it in so we can use it all day.Does anyone have any recommendations for what we could use or put there. It is a a framed chalet.

Thanks

d

Maybe a nice area where you can sit and read, or play a board game setting it up with a small table and chairs. Lanterns or mini lights, with bamboo/grass blinds or curtains to use to either block the sun or at night to provide privacy and enjoy the lower temps in those evening hours. A glider seat with a rug on the floor and a couple of small tables on the side. Decorated and painted in colors which make you feel good, maybe something more daring than you would use inside your home. A nice place to have a glass of lemonade or red wine?

Default Check around what they do in Florida......

This is a very common thing in Florida but the screening is different from what we normally find in most other places.

In Florida they use a very heavy screening that is more like a fabric and it can cover huge areas without a lot of support. See a lot of screened in porches, pools, etc. Even whole yards.

I would not try it with normal screening like you find in most stores.

Some of my relatives houses have it in Florida. Might ask on the FL forum and see what they say. Be good to see some of the pics of places there.
Maybe find some sources for the materials.

Mosquito Netting Curtains: An elegant inexpensive alternative to a screen porch

Here is a neat alternative. It is cost effective and is more flexible. We are considering doing half of our porch as well.
