Do any of you folks know a source to purchase real carriage doors for a garage (not the overhead doors that look like carriage doors)? Failing that, does anyone know where I could get plans on how to construct carriage doors?
There are Architectural restoration stores that may have what you want. I don't know where you are, but there is a store in San Antonio that is a huge warehouse full of old doors. It's called Architecural Designs. I don't know if they ship. there may be other stores that have web sights. Also, Habitat for Humanity runs stores for houses and buildings donated to them that they tear down and sell the pieces.
I remember reading in a different forum awhile back about someone who bought from this company in Washington state but they only showed pictures, they didn't give pricing/shipping details. They look as though they do nice work and say they ship anywhere in the USA.
