Wife's wash machine broke again. 3rd time in year and half (every six months) Same thing - water level control doesn't shut water off when its supposed to and washer won't spin out. Fixed it myself this time..... Take front panel off machine. Attached to side of drum is a small transparent plastic box (about size of pack of cigarettes) with a transparent hose attached to it that leads to water level control switch. This box is called sediment box and sometimes gets clogged with soap scum, grease, etc, thus plugging transparent hose. To fix - remove hose and poke down into box with a coat hanger sized wire and stir up the sediment that has collected and this stuff will flow back into wash tub. (Have water level in tub slightly higher than the sediment box) Then remove this gunk from inside tub. Wet vacuum works well. Repairman charges $80 to do this.
