This kinda bothers me, because eventually I will need to get a new fridge for my house once work is complete. Too many fridges I have seen are well over the $1K mark, I really did not want to spend that much on a fridge for an older house. Are there any good fridges that are under $1K?

Refrigerators don't die they are killed. Same as your HVAC system for your home.

First of all the side by sides which I have (whirlpool) are not that reliable.
I ended up getting it fixed since it was only 8 years old and the previous owners probably paid 1600 for it or more.
The tech guy said it was the thermostat that went. Along with the 65 dollar diagnostic fee the whole repair he did came to $292.00
Alot cheaper than buying a new fridge.
Yikes, they are expensive now!
