That is ridiculous for your house! My guess is his business is slow so he is making up for lack of volume by raising prices. We do cost analysis with other inspectors in our area a few times a year. There are truly only a handful that can compete with our level of experience and every one of us would be well below that price. There are over 300 inspectors in the triangle, and only approximately 20 of us are worth spending the money on.
