Could someone please recommend a couple websites that carry powerful indoor TV antennas? We currently have an amplified antenna and it isn't getting the job done.

(Being poor, we have no desire to pay for cable or satellite TV and all of my entertainment comes from the Internet and online gaming anyway.)

Are you talking about an antenna for DTV ? You can try radio shack, wall mart or any store like them. Just google for the web address.

I'm waiting until feb 17 (I think that's the correct date) to up grade my rabbit ears to a smart antenna to plug into the DTV box.

Just normal TV channels. We picked up one of the free HDTV converter boxes so we're already receiving HDTV channels but my wife would like a better reception. The channels we need to pull in are in the Yellow Zone, and based on what little research I've done so far, this looks like a good one:

Amazon.com: Winegard SS-3000 Amplified Indoor UHF/VHF Antenna: Electronics

Anyone else have that?

I have an outdoor antenna, so i can't help you with indoors, but here are a couple of links you may try.

AntennaWeb.org
this can help you find a suitable antenna.

Remember you'll need a "digital" antenna once Feb 17 hits!! There have already been articles saying that the old type of antennas will no longer work!!!

That is simply not true. There is no such thing as a digital antenna. An antenna collects a carrier wave. That wave carries either digital information, or analog information. It is still the same carrier wave.

I apologize - you are correct that there isn't a "digital" antenna. I mistook something in an article that I read the other day about the fact that rabbit ears may be inadequate going forward and that people may need to upgrade to better antennaes.

This gives good information about it:

You won't need a new kind of antenna on 2/17, though you may need a better antenna, as a digital signal (which drops out if the signal's weak) is more difficult to receive in marginal areas than an analog signal (which merely gets fuzzy or snowy when it's weak). Also, I know receivers have gotten better about this in recent years, but you'll need to point your antenna precisely, because when the digital signal ricochets off other objects it often causes the receiver to quit decoding the signal, even if it is strong.

How far away are you from your transmitters? I'm guessing you can get away with an indoor antenna if you're on the first floor of your house 15 - 25 miles but no more.
