We need help!

Our pool needs to be resurfaced as the Marcite is starting to have those patches. So we have decided to go with Diamond Brite. One of the pool reference that we saw from the company we think we are going with, had the Blue Quartz color. When we saw the pool we were surprised that the base was so grey, looking on line I expected the base to be white with the fine blue specs. When I went back to the company and said we loved the pool we want that grey look, but I wasn't sure if it was just blue quartz, that it looked like it had the French Grey Color base mixed with the Blue Quartz Color. I was told that the Blue Quartz color starts out with a grey base, and that in a year or two as the finish cures it will get that white base like the sample in the store or like online. I find this hard to believe. So my question is does the Blue Quartz color from Diamond Brite when applied have a white base (like online samples and 4"x4" samples in store)? The pool we saw was put in Oct/Nov she said.

Hi. I am curious...are you in the Dayton area? We just installed a pool in August of 2009 and had a heartbreaking experience with the diamond brite. Please let me know your experience with this product/installer

We had a pool redone back in Jax Fl in 2004 with the Blue Quartz Diamond Brite finish. Loved it. It had more of a white base, I guess you call it. Looked like the samples. Also added two rows of 6x6 tile around the top in the blue color pulled from the Diamond Brite color. It was about a 15 x 30 pool, went down to 8 Ft. Paid about $4800 total. Changed some of the plumbing, inlets around too. Bought the materials direct from a pool supply and then contractor did the work. Not the cheapest, nor the highest bid. Good luck

I have an inground gunite swimming pool with a Diamond Brite Blue finish. Several spots have the finish worn off, exposing the brown concrete. A couple of these spots, size of a softball, are on the bottom. Is there any way to patch these spots without draining the pool.

Jack

Nope!
There is patch material that is designed for underwater curing but it's a "patch".
The only way to correctly repair is drain to the level of the repair.
