We had hardwood floors installed (site finished). When they laid the wood it looked great except for a lot of nails. Thought that this would be hidden once the wood was finished. Instead we have lots of nail spots and we also have staples that are visible. The wood also is seperating. I know in the winter it might shrink, but it is really noticeable. They are suppose to come out and look at it but I'm afraind that it is just a bad job that won't be able to be corrected. What do you all think?

Was it 3/4" t&g floors? If so, no nails should not be present, but winter may shrink it up a bit.. Even still, 3/4" t&g properly fastened should not show any of the hardware... Unless you got the top nail 'gunstock' looking floors...

You should really not see nails in a finished hardwood floor.
