I found:
3 baking sheets (fell behind the drawer they were in and forgotten)
Tecate beer coozie
Leftover wallpaper and tile
Oval-shaped mirror
Fireplace stuff from before it was converted to gas
A 2-inch scrap of a border that used to be installed in one of the bedrooms, edges singed because one of the sons the people 2 owners ago had was nuts
Brio train track piece
Scrap of trim that runs along the bottom of each room with the finish carpenter's to-do list for the day written on it
Nothing too interesting, but I get some use out of the baking sheets at least
Paint, a couple of bed frames, what looks like parts of a crib, boxes to the garage genie and several other products that they probably took with them. That's just in the garage. I still haven't been up to the attic to see what's up there.
Three mattresses, sofa set, 2 tvs, pots and pans, small desk, night stand, book shelf, another desk, chair, toys, paint, box full of christmas lights, box full of small US flags. We sold most of it. The landlord told us to do with it as we wished. So we did. Now we have made a business of it. We go in and clean out homes like this. We have 3 lined up so far. It's called a Trash Out Service.
Two houses ago....bought a place built in the 1930s from the estate of the original owners.
We found all kinds of cool vintage stuff in the basement. Mixing bowls (still use those), ceramic planters and pots, a wringer washing machine (sold at a yard sale) and best of all? An aluminum Christmas tree with all the trimmings.
In this house the best part was that previous owners save duplicates of the original (1920s) hardware. As an old house owner it is a blessing to have that stuff! We also found a box of glass that can be used to repair the stained glass window if needed.
A really nice garden tiller was left out in the natural area hidden behind some shrubs in our yard, but dang-it, they remembered it after several weeks and wanted to come get it .
