A bond is just a pot of moeny to cllect from if you have to bring a lawsuit. Insurance is what pays for damage and liability.

We had a few tricks that we always used with a new maid service. Leave a $20 bill in some corner where is has obviaously been forgotten. Dump some change underneath the couch. We know one family that even puts a half empty bottle of whiskey in the trash. I am not sure if they fire her for stealing if she takes it, or fire her for being stupid if she does not take it (it is the trash after all). WE would also intnetionally leave some dirt on a molding or some place that we asked them to clean, but usually people do nto like to clean there. You can devise all sorts of tests to see if the person is the type of person that you want to work in your house.

Usually we became pretty good friends with our house cleaners. Even when we could nto talk to them.

Now that we moved out of CA, we can no longer afford house cleaners. We do for ourselves,. Not as good a job and a lot of things do nto get done, but we know that we can trust us and we are very affordable.
