This cave/home is 17,000 square feet - and is 45 feet under the forest!

Default I Love It

Wish I had a cave like that. Them radon guys must be going nuts trying to convince them they are all going to die.

Beautiful use of what Mother Nature provides.

I love that too, but wasn't that an abandoned sandstone mine? It would be a hard sell getting my wife to live in a cave, but I'll bet the operating costs are about zilch apart from lighting and whatever the family uses to cook. Just a few feet into a cave of any size generally finds a very stable (and comfortable) ambient temperature.

I want to know how they solved plumbing and ventilation challenges. Surely they are on septic, but I would think the waste lines would be considerably lower than the tank and leach field... Problem?

Very cool. I was wondering about heating and ventilation also.

Ah, but do they have a Batmobile that shoots flames that serve no purpose out of the back?

Kidding aside, that's really neat.
