We chose Rogue cabinets on our new home kitchen and cannot decide which countertop to go ? Two options we like are Uba Tuba and Baltic Brown. Baltic is around $1000 more. We like both.

Which one is better ? Which one would you prefer?

What goes best with the color of your cabinets? Your flooring? Your appliances? Only you can decide.

Well Rogue is a brand of cabinet who has about 50 color choices. So you didn't tell us what color and wood species your cabinets are.

But one thing I am certian on is Uba Tuba and Baltic Brown are the same identical price. Always was and always will be. They are basic standard color, Baltic Brown is not an upgrade. If your dealer told you otherwise then they are raping you. You should run very fast from those idiots trying to rip people off.

Who'd ya go to? Cabinets and Designs in Houston? I never heard a bad word about them.

You should be paying from $21 to 28 SF for this granite. What are they trying to rape you?

Do not go with Baltic Brown. Myself, my wife, and many others agree that it looks like a bad case of ringworm everywhere on the counter. In fact, we were close to buying a house that was 2 years old with Baltic brown, and we were going to rip out the BB granite and put in new granite. You have to think about resell, and baltic brown is an eyesore and ugly to some.

Uba Tuba looks great since its dark, but has that nice green shading deep in it. You can't go wrong with Uba Tuba.

Personally, I like Baltic Brown better than Uba Tuba. Also think about this though, the darker your countertops are the more they show crumbs, dust, etc. My sister has a granite similar to Uba Tuba but with red accents instead of green and we currently have some funky lighter granite (in our apt). Even though I prefer the way her counters look, I prefer the upkeep of mine. We choose to go with a lighter granite in the new house we're building.

I think the Baltic brown is nicer and I have the 10" square samples sitting right next to me. My desk is Uba Tuba. The Uba Tuba is used in mass quality by all the tract builders. Who wants what everyone else has?

I've seen Uba Tuba in quite a few houses... actually, I saw more fingerprints on the countertop than the actual granite. I am not familiar with the other choice, but I'd pick almost anything over Uba Tuba.

We had dark countertops in the house when we bought it with hickory cabinets, oak floors. Ended up ripping them out and putting very light color Zodiaq countertops. What a difference! The kitchen is so much brighter.
