My husband and I are about to sign the contract to build a new home. The exterior elevation that we like most of the plan we chose is below. What do you think for the exterior (it's pretty boring) we are thinking of doing a gray-ish brick like Glen Gery Yukon Winter and then maybe white or gray-ish vinyl cedar shakes for the two large points (gables--is that what you call them)--what do you suggest?

I found a nice mix of brick and siding on allplans.com - notice how the roofing shingles are used to define the siding? I also don't know the right terms so hopefully the picture will do the job for me...haha!

Even though the elevation is different, I see enough similarity in both that this could work. You have a nice home plan, btw!

kittyskyfish- Thanks for the feedback--would you say the siding is green in the pic you posted? I have thought about green--however I don't know how green would go with gray brick.

Hi, yes the image shows a muted light green siding. I'm not sure how such a warm sage green would look against grey brick, but a medium greenish grey (with a hint of blue undertone) would look nice.
