We have rentals and became friends with our exterminator who gave us lots of tips and DIY things to do. We buy a spray online(would have to find link if you want it) and it does VERY well killing most bugs. Bees die almost instant and its supposed to kill bedbugs on contact as well. Bedbugs though are a whole story and can be almost impossible to get rid of if the tenant still lives in unit. We have actually considered going into the exterminator business.
For common bugs, we spray the perimeter of inside/outside home with Ortho I think. It does very well and lasts up to six months which gets us through summer when theyre the worst.
Ancient thread revived by spam. See the sticky at the top of the forum for less toxic methods of DIY pest control. The overuse of chemicals is crazy and can be dangerous to health and environment.
I've set off a couple of bug bombs in my house to get rid of a small pest problem I had (my old roommate/tenant was a bit of a slob). No rodents, thankfully.
