I need to purchase a washer and dryer unit and the choices out there are a bit confusing. I've never heard of LG before. I didn't know Samsung made washer/dryers. Choices choices choices..

What I would like is a stainless steel tub in both units and the front load seems ideal. I would like it to save energy and also be able to wash comforters. I have two young teens so something that will last at least 10 years would be great!

Has anyone found a particular style and/or brand they really love?

I have good old Kenmore the washer, cheap works great now, and is 11 years old. The dryer is almosy 14 and works great, it is a Gas one. They
are the basic white, and do there job. Even Electrulux now also does
you may go to the sears page and read reviews from people who do have them. I like kenmore and sears often does run good specials. I never did hear of LG but I do think they also make the cell phone.

I have a old Maytag that has been going for years, Recent I had to have a small part changed. The repair man said to keep it as long as possible because they were the most reliable he had seen in 40 years of repairing them. The new ones he said are pretty much all alike.

I got a Maytag front loader matching washer and dryer. I had a Maytag for 15 years and had to replace it becasue the bottom rusted out after being in the garage and having water run under it. Another story, but it happened. it ran fine until the bottom fell out. I've had the new set for 2 years and had to replace the light in the washer. it was easy, did it myself. I'll stick to Maytag.

I have a Samsung set that I purchased from Lowes about 18 months ago. The washer is a front loader. If your set is not going on a concrete floor, I highly recommend the Samsung VRT (Vibration Reduction Technology) washer. If the load becomes unbalanced, it senses it and then reverses spinning to balance the load. If you have any other questions let me know...

We bought a new LG Front-Load set about 6 years ago. It's the ultra-high efficiency ones. 2,000 rpm spin cycle, etc.

We have not had one iota of problem with them. They wash and dry laundry like nobody's business.

No question. We'd buy another pair.

We always bought Kenmore washers and dryers in the past. Our last washer lasted 15 years and the dryer went for 20. We replaced the washer with another Kenmore and it is going strong with no issues. We just bought a GE dryer a couple of months ago and it is fine. The only thing that annoys us about it is that the door opens to the side not down so clothes will fall to the floor when you are removing them from it. This is not a big deal but it is annoying to have clean clothes drop on the floor. Jay

We have Whirlpool W/D. The washer is a top loader, dryer is gas. They do quite well. Kenmore also very good brand for top loaders and dryers.

I don't know anything much about these new machines except that many people aren't happy with them. Maybe they need to be perfected a little more and then they will be ok.

I have a Maytag Epic front load washer and dryer pair I bought in March 2007. Not one iota of a problem. I believe this is now made by Whirlpool but using the Maytag brand. I have not experienced the odor problems or noise that some people complain about front loaders. My washer and dryer are on the second floor where all the bedrooms are. I would recommend both in terms of price, water efficiency, drying power, cycle time and cycle options and cleaning power.

Some I have talked to say Speed Queen is the nearest thing to the older maytags which were great machines.
