I am planning on putting a dartboard up in may garage. To protect the drywall from friends with bad aim I plan to put a backboard up behind the dartboard. What would be the best type of material to use? I was thinking either some plywood or corkboard. Any other ideas?
Thanks!

You could use plywood or OSB, you could use cork board, or you could put a couple layers of the blue foam board they put under vinyl siding. It's cheap and easy to install, and the dart would stick and probably not bounce off onto the floor like they might with OSB and plywood.

I would hang another piece of drywall that could be replaced.

How about the matting used in weight rooms?

Use a few politicians behind it and hope that everyone misses the dartboard!

Cant think of what theyre called. Those big square rubber mats that fit together like a puzzle. They come in all sorts of colors. Most people use them on the floor in little kids play areas. Theyre very reasonable. You could use your team colors. Or if youre artistic you could do a mascot

That's the same mats that are used in weight rooms. You see children play area, I see weight room. They're the same thing except for the color. Hey, how about the wife puts up a pink wall made from this stuff. That'll go real good on game night

A few years ago I bought a 36"x36" wine cork dart-backboard on an internet auction site. I put a battery-operated bicycle-tire clock in the center and hung it in my garage. If you have the time and patience, you can make a backboard like this. You can also buy the corks on that internet auction site.

I know, but it'd be a pretty good prank for a wife to pull just before the big game. Come to think of it, if they get drunk there then they should probably line all the walls and floors with the stuff.
