I've checked online for blinds for a skylight in our daughters room. Since we're trying to save money, does anyone have a solution that doesn't involve spending $100 on one blind? That's about the price range I've found, and I really don't want to spend that much. Thanks!

We had a skylight that faced due south and caused the room it was in to heat up terribly. We were able to find a sheer curtain the same length as the skylight, with rod pockets at both ends. We used tension rods to hold it in place in the skylight opening. It cut down the heat gain tremendously, but still allowed filtered light through.

Thanks so much. CHTransplant! I like the idea of using tension rods. So simple, even I can do it...
