I am working on a cleaning routine.
I have 2 levels and want to do some cleaning during the week and then
finish the cleaning on Sat.

One way would be to do all the floors on Sat and divide the rest up
Mon-Friday.

Or...do the bathrooms during the week & rest on Sat.

Or..do one floor during the week and other on Sat.

Does anyone have a system that would work like this???

If it's just you then do what you want. You could do one thing one week then do another the next...just to spice it up. But be flexible as you never know what might happen during the week- injury/last minute vacation/last minute drop in visit from family or friends.

I try to spend at least a half hour a day on what needs doing beyond everyday chores like dishes and making the bed. That pretty much leaves the weekend free.

I just assign it all to the kids as chores during the week and then whatever they do nto do on the weekend. It works ok, unless they have a really lazy week.

As it is just my husband and I -we both work. I try to get all the small stuff done during the week , ie dusting, toilet bowls & bathrooms, vacuum, changing bed linens , wash. My Dh likes to cut the grass on Friday's/ I will weed the same time or early Sat am.

The more time expenditure tasks like the hardwood floors and blinds I will leave for a really hot or rainy weekend.

A lot of times though I let a lot of things go-as long as no clutter-beds are made an toilet bowls and shower are clean!

When I was a SAHM I would do my laundry on Monday, would take one day to do bathrooms and dust, mop floors on another day then do one heavy cleaning thing another day (dust blinds or whatever). We never had to do any cleaning on weekends. The kids had their jobs as they got older too. Now we pretty much do everything on Saturday morning.

My wife and I use a two-week cleaning schedule, and we have a chart on our refrigerator to remind us of what needs doing. We started by listing out all the cleaning chores that have to be done. Then we decided which ones needed to be done every week, and which ones could be done every other week. From that we created a "Week One" set of cleaning chores, and a "Week Two" set. We divided up the every-other-week chores between the weeks in a way that balanced the amount of time we'd spend each week on cleaning. We did not try to break it down further and dictate which days of the week stuff was to be done on - we figured we'd have trouble keeping up with that.

Start with the worst, first. I do very little housework. I clean the kitchen, bathroom, and I am fond of airing out things. Almost never wash a window. (yes they are clean anyway). I leave certain curtains up for a year. (big heavy solar blockers) I have 4 vacuums. They are like playing with toys. I love to vacuum. Very zen. I wash clothes as I need them. Same with sheets. A dirty kitchen and bathroom bother me more than a few clothes strewn about. Buy a minute timer. Set it to 5 minutes. Do 5 minutes worth of work. bell rings, look around for a longer task. Set timer again. Try to make it fun. Luckily, I have just myself to clean up after. I clean the fridge when it looks like it needs it. And I always clean fans, and fan blades ! Check motors, and inlets for those pesky dust balls, and hairs !

When I was a SAHM I used to have a system where each room had a number. EX: Master Bedroom was #1, Kitchen was #2, Bathrooms were #3, livingroom #4, etc. Each day I did a little straightening up in the entire house and each day I would do heavy cleaning in whatever room was that day. When i got to the end of the line I'd start back at one. If I didn't feel like cleaning that day I would just push the numbers back a day. Kept the house very clean and I never had to spend an entire day cleaning.
