Where is the "ideal" place to store....

- empty luggage when not in use? Guest room closet or attic
- camera and video recording equipment? Electronics drawer in the TV console
- medicine/medical supplies (especially in a house with little kids). Do you keep it in the kitchen? Somewhere else? Bathroom cupboard
- cell phones and other gadgets you need often/on the go? Kitchen counter
- memorabilia/sentimental items you collect over the years? Attic
- large hobby items like music instruments (guitars/drums) or photography equipment, etc?NA
- gift wrapping materials/sewing/crafts etc? Attic/ guest room chest
- constant mail/paper that comes into the house? Recycle bin
- important documents (passports, deeds etc) file in office
- outdoor recreational items (blankets, lawn chairs, coolers, etc) garage closet
- exercise equipment, esp if you do not have a dedicated gym room NA
- anything else that comes to mind?

I had to get very creative with storing things in this tiny apartment.

* The empty luggage is where I store my winter clothes. They're rarely worn here, but I keep a few items in case I...go north on vacation. So I'm already packed. It's on the floor of the closet.

* The gift wrapping and hobby stuff got slid under the bed. I also put my beach chair under there and the rolling box where I store the extra bed linens, because there's no linen closet in this apartment.

* One not mentioned (that doesn't apply to everyone) is the Christmas tree (fake one in a long, narrow box) which in my case ended up wedged between the bed and the wall, with a wooden plank over it to provide a "resting place" for my bedside things like a lamp, clock-radio, and such (kind of a makeshift endtable). The ornaments ended up in the "steamer trunk" style coffee table in the living room, which I bought expressly to hide such oddball items in need of storage.

* Important documents and some of my important keepsakes are in a Rubbermaid container that sits under my desk. Down here we are advised to have such a "Hurricane Evacuation Kit". There's room in the container for all the other necessities and it's ready when needed. The chair just won't slide under the desk any more.

It's a total juggling act. Furniture purchases have to be made with an eye toward multiple purposes as well as size.
