We might be purchasing a home that has a 13ft x 12ft dining room....not too big...so since I don't really want a china cabinet or buffet table I am looking to purchase a square dining room table that is about 60" x 60" that opens to 60" x 108" (or 5ft x 9ft). Would like to start out seating 8 and opening up to seat 12. I would prefer a pedestal also but that might be pushing it. Does anyone know where I can find a table like this?

I don't know where you live, but depending on this, I have recently looked at Mathis BROTHERS AND ASHLEY also LIVING SPACES FURNITURE. AND THERE IS EASY LIFE, i remember seeing some very large dining tables at Ashley, and Easy Life furniture. I would suggest in the state you live in, you visit online stores first, to see if they have the sizes needed for your dining room. I just got thru looking very recent, and do know that i have seen the large dining tables. Hope this helps. I did not get much help on here about ASHLEY OR MATHIS BROTHERS, so i decided to look for myself.

I had similar needs for a quality square table seating eight that expands to seat 12. I did find it but the cost was double my original budget so with leaves and eight chairs it was over $6K. Sent me a direct message if you want me to look up the manufacturer.

do you care about height? I find pub height/counter height square tables all the time that are often cheaper than regular ones. But i don't know that I've ever seen a normal height square table.

Try oak express to get some ideas.
