I know my boyfriend has talked to a few realtor friends, who all agreed a finished basement would increase the value. They didn't get into how much,
This is one thing I have considered before we move. But for me... to finish it 'right' may cost 30-50k for my area... yes, it would increase the value of my home... BUT - would I get that back out of the house when i sell?? right now, I highly doubt it.

If you hire someone to do it, it could easily cost that much. We're doing most of the work ourselves. We're expecting to spend about $10k.

we have friends in the trades... i'm sure we could do it for about 30k ... we buy everything and pay their labor.. but DH helps. They've done that before.

Some folks in our subdivision dropped about 40-50k to finish theirs. ouch.
