Not perfect - might be more than one story, don't need a wine seller or all the fancy shmancy crap, but that path to the private beach, the size, & the 2 acres is near a dream home...And at only 15mil! Some of the others I like are 25 mil...

Or check THIS out!!! Only an acre, but only 20 mil...Again, too much extra crap & too snooty, but MAN check out that indoor pool!!!!!!!
And that view from the outdoor pool!!!!!!!!!

Uh, yeah, I'll take this one too...!!!!!!!! A steal at 12mil!!!

Here's my dream home in Desert Highlands (community in N. Scottsdale):

Nothing spectacular but I've never had a fancy for large homes; they're nice to look at but I wouldn't want to live in it. This one is a 2 bed/ 2 bath, 2600 sq ft with a heated pool and spa. And a bargain for $1.1 million .

Default If you're actually looking for a grand, older house...

This is the website that we found our new home through:
http://www.oldhouses.com/cf/search.cfm
They've got nice selection options and usually some pretty good pictures of the houses (there's one in Independence, KS right now that's very nice!)

This site has many nice older homes too, but it also usually has a number that are in need of some work and so are *much* less expensive:

Fabulous houses Scranton! You have a gorgeous, huge house. Prettyhatemachine - I like the clean lines of Mid Century - very nice.

I could have so many dream homes - I love many styles and many looks. Whatever the house looks like on the outside, I want light, architecture, space, a good flow and coziness on the inside. It is fun to fix the outside up and make it the best it can be for what it is. I don't want a huge house - I want one that my husband and I can care for ourself - big enough to let us entertain, but not so big that we can't afford to heat, cool and furnish it.

Love the homes that you all have posted.

Here is the before of our modest little dream house:

and here is the after:

Thanks VPCats! We live in Long Beach, CA....we have lived in our home for over 20 years and raised 3 boys - never had much time or money to redo anything inside or out....now that the boys are grown and gone we have done quite a bit inside and out....we hired someone to do the landscaping but my best friend and I designed the front yard and I designed the back. I sort of acted like the general contractor - hiring roofers, gutter people, painters, stucco man, etc. My husband built the fence and porch railings/banisters, window box and installed the shutters. I did all the flowers. It was a lot of fun to see the transformation.

It's adorable, Cattknap. Looks so friendly, fresh and welcoming!

I imagine that most homes, especially custom-built or remodeled homes end up reflecting the personality of the owner. Good job.
