My family and I have recently relocated to Houston, specifically the Willowbend area. The local elementary school (Red) has already filled it's Pre-K program, so I'm looking for alternate options for my 4-year-old this fall. Unfortunately, it looks like everything is closed for the summer, so none of my phone calls or emails are getting through.

I'm originally from North Carolina and this is my eldest child, so I'm a complete novice to how the local school system works -- as I understand it, there are private school options in addition to HISD's Pre-K/K-only early childhood centers, but the private facilities fill up quickly and tuition varies. I haven't been able to find much information about anything, though, since I'm having trouble actually talking to someone; I need recommendations for public AND private options, as well as suggestions on how I could go about getting my questions answered in spite of schools being out.

I have tried to contact Halpin, Mistral, and MLK early childhood centers, as well as Mrs. Wagner's in Willowbend, but I'm just not having any luck getting hold of a person, and I have no idea where to start -- help, please?

I would suggest the Catholic schools in your area as well as the Galleria. Yes, most will be closed for the summer, but I'm sure they will be checking messages.
